


Peter Kubovič
Chairman of the Public procurement OfficeMr Kubovic graduated at the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava in 2005. He started his professional career at the Office for Public Procurement as a desk officer in 2005. Eventually, he was appointed as Director of the Legislation Department. In the years of 2012 – 2013, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic as the Director of the Public Procurement Department. He returned back to the Office for Public Procurement in 2013 to work as a legal expert at the Department for Methodology and Electronic Public Procurement. During 2018 – 2020, he was the Head of Public Procurement Department at the City of Trnava.
In 2020, he was appointed as member of the Council of the Office for Public Procurement which functions as a second-instance review body in the field of public procurement in the Slovak Republic. In the same year, he also started to work as a public procurement and methodology specialist at the Slovak Electricity Transmission System.
Furthermore, he has been providing lectures focused on the issues of public procurement and specializes in the field of case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The central goal for his tenure is to manage the Office for Public Procurement so that its central effort is the concept of public procurement as a simple and transparent process for the benefit of the public. The main pillars for this effort are the development of expertise of the Office, reduction of bureaucracy for contracting authorities and entities through strengthening of digitalization of public procurement, deepening of cooperation with the community of experts and the academia, as well as transparent communication about the activities and decisions of the Office for Public Procurement.
